Student Checklist

Students, please use this as a weekly checklist to stay on track with your learning and progress.  If you find yourself getting behind, speak with me immediately so we can remedy the problem. 

Week 1:

1. Brainstorm responses for essential questions
2. Create Blog and complete introduction
3. Clarify any questions on student expectations, learning targets, etc.

Week 2:

1. Evaluate values

2.Create wordle of values

3. Blog Post #2: Post a link to the wordle creation, write a paragraph about what you have learned about your values and how they compare to other classmates.
* Reflect on 3-5 of your classmates

Week 3:

1.  Blog Post #3: Create rough draft on your blog where you do the following:
- Share three personal stories where your values were tested or where you realized the importance of a value
(Each story must be detailed and clear so that your reader understands the message you're trying to convey.)
* Respond to 3-5 of your classmates

2.Explore 7-10 essays/podcasts

3. Blog Post #4: Reflect on your favorite two.


Week 4:
1. Create your rough draft of your essay on googledocs and share it with me and three other classmates.
2. Begin Peer edits (3-5 peers)

Week 5:

1. Finish peer edits
2. Blog Post #5: Post your final essay
3.  Read 3-5 of your classmates essays (ones you did not edit) and respond


Week 6:

2. Set up Voicethread account (teacher step by step instruction in computer lab)
3. Read "how-to's": http://voicethread.com/support/howto/Basics/
4. Brainstorm visuals to add to enhance their essay/ rough sketch slides that would work with their essay
5. Blog Post #6: First experiences with voicethread
6. Read 2-3 classmates' posts and respond

Week 7/8:

1. Create presentation (minimum of 5-7 slides)
2. Blog Post #7: post a link to your voicethread creation
3. Watch 5-7 of your classmates work and respond
4. Blog Post #8: Personal Reflection on the project
